BORDER HOUSE
This house, situated in a high meadow above Aspen, is positioned
with the northern portion in a wooded area and the southern portion
in the open meadow. The house design aims to create a transition
between these two environments, as a border between the trees and
the meadow. A long wall, "the border", runs the entire
length of the house. The wall is an organizing element for both
circulation and program. The indoor and outdoor spaces are positioned
so that one interacts with the wall by either passing by it or through
it, thus transitioning between the tree and the meadow environments. |
